Judge Yolanda R. Mack was elected to the DeKalb County State Court, Division A-3 in June of 2024 after a successful 20+ year career. Judge Mack, a native of DeKalb County and graduate of Avondale High School, received her BA from Alcorn State and her law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. After graduating from law school, she returned home to Georgia to begin her legal career. Starting as a public defender, then serving as a trial line prosecutor and, most recently serving as a member of the senior leadership team for the largest district attorney’s office in Georgia. Judge Mack was the District Attorney for the Sexual Assault Unit at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office from 2021-2024. She served as the Deputy Chief District Attorney for the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Unit in DeKalb County from 2017-2020 and was the Senior Assistant District Attorney/Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office from 2007-2017.
Judge Mack is a board member for the International Women’s House (IWH), was a member of the DeKalb County Domestic Violence Task Force (2017-2021), a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and a graduate of Leadership DeKalb, Class of 2021.
The awards and recognitions Judge Mack has received include Attorney of the Year (2010 & 2016) and the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Unit of the Year (DeKalb County). She is a member of the DeKalb National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Lambda Epsilon Omega) and the Junior League of DeKalb (JLD).
Judge Mack has represented and fought for the community for nearly 30 years. As a parent to two teenagers and a leader in various DeKalb County community organizations, Judge Mack has a unique understanding and perspective on the impact of the law and judges.
